A Successful Surgery

We just got the news that L is out of surgery. Dr. B said things went very well. They were able to do just the partial sternotomy (incision only on the lower part of her chest) and repair the 4mm hole using a patch from the pericardium. The post-repair EKG showed all the valves and rhythms operating exactly as they are supposed to be and there were no issues with bleeding.

They were getting her ready for transport to the recovery unit and they'll call us in about an hour when they get her settled, so we can see her.

Praise God.

Valerie,
I am praying specifically for you, your daughter and your whole family. I am praising god that the news is good so far. I will continue to pray throughout today! I posted a verse in the response section of my blog right after your comment if you want to take a look.
Blessings,
Lysa

OOOOPS! I just re-read my comment and saw that I wrote God without the capital "G"- It buggged me enought to post a clarification about it being a mistake. Still praying!

AWESOME NEWS! I relayed the word to Sondra. God is faithful, as you well know, and we're so glad for the successful surgery and the move to RECOVERY! woohoo! It really shouldn't surprise any of us it came off so well - God specializes in healing hearts with holes in them. We'll keep right on praying!

Valerie,

Lydia and your family have been in my thoughts and prayers all day. So glad to hear everything went well. I can't imagine how you must have felt sending her off to surgery this morning -- it doesn't surprise me you had an upset tummy! Take care and keep us updated!

Lydia and your family have been in our prayers. When we take Maleigha to daycare we say a prayer for all of her China friends. Maleigha made this one special for Lydia. We are glad the surgery went well.

God Bless
